**To update a custom metric**

The following ``update-custom-metric`` example updates a custom metric to have a new ``display-name``. ::

    aws iot update-custom-metric \
        --metric-name batteryPercentage \
        --display-name 'remaining battery percentage on device' \
        --region us-east-1
